What details do we hold? We hold details provided to us by customers, enquirers, supporters and suppliers. These details generally cover name and contact details. In the case of software supplied to churches and charities, their names will form part of the customer record. We also record sales and voluntary donations.
Who will have access to this information? The details we hold are purely for the proper conduct of our business and charities. Only staff, agents and trustees have access to the information relevant to their area of activity. Data may be viewed by professionals in the course of accounting and regulatory supervision (such as VAT inspection). We do not sell or pass on lists of our customers or supporters.
Why do we hold this information? Apart from the legal requirements to keep proper records, we need contact details in order to keep our customers and supporters informed. For business contacts this is usually to offer technical support, enhancements and offers of new products. For our charity supporters we feel it most important to keep people informed about how their support is being utilised. From time to time it is helpful for us, on behalf of others, to circulate an appeal. We also maximise the value of donations by carefully processing Gift Aid tax recovery claims.
Email circulation lists We maintain circulation lists of email addresses to which individuals ask to be added. These are used to pass on news about product services or information relating to charitable work. We make reasonable efforts to ensure that individual's email addresses are not disclosed to others but cannot guarantee that this will never happen. We do not sell or intentionally pass on email address lists for use by others. Our bulk emailing circulations are handled using the service provided by Vertical Response
Will my credit card details be passed over the internet? We have services to allow customers, particularly from overseas, to purchase goods from our website, by credit card and be billed in their own currency. These services are provided for us by KAGI and PayPal. We do not receive your card details from these services. Customers who order from us by telephone or post, using a credit card, will have their card details recorded on paper records only. They are not stored or transmitted by computer (other than in the usual transaction with the card supplier).
